In a good mood for having to work until 8pm :)

SHOCKINGLY, I'm in a super good mood today. I really have no reason to be (besides the obvious good job, awesome husband, beautiful home, Frito-y fur kids, etc) because I woke up with my period punching its way into the world, and I'm scheduled to work until 8pm tonight. But honestly, I'm happy today :)

I worked on Jennie Willis's baby shower invitations, and I'm hoping to get them out in the mail by Saturday, the latest. I have one more thing to do with them, and then I'll be putting puppy stamps on them and sending them on their way! I love throwing parties - if I could do it for a living, I TOTALLY would... I wonder how one gets a business like that started... Hmm. Maybe I'll take lots of pictures at the baby shower and start a portfolio? We'll see. All I know is that this shower is going to be boss. Sweatpants everywhere, "baby" cupcakes, Papa Joe's catering & awesome people. I'm stoked.

Here are the invites - Complete with where they're registered, a request to wear sweatpants and a map so nobody gets lost :)

As mentioned, per request of the mom-to-be, there will be puppy stamps (hopefully the post office has them!), as well :)

I will be making the CUTEST cupcakes:

And I have so many awesome decorating ideas, it's sick. I hope she likes it!! There will be a clothesline full of little boy outfits/sweatpants, etc.

I seriously want to leave work and head to Michael's to finish getting all of the decorations, and the shower isn't until the end of July....

In other news, it's raining today, which means two things: 1) My car is getting washed and 2) My plants are getting watered. Bitchin.

Also, I have a Stage 5 Clinger at work (a few of them, actually). But this one takes the cake. She just barged into my office AGAIN without knocking to bitch about how she thinks she's going to get fired. Really? Maybe you should be at your desk WORKING rather than walking around half the day and bothering those of us who actually DO like their job and enjoy getting work done. I'm sorry that you're probably going to get canned, lady, but here's hoping everyone else has increased productivity because they're not dealing with your Stage 5er self.

Ok, that's all I have to report. Hey, it's already 1:30pm... 6.5 hours to go!

I've never been so thankful to see a Friday...

It's FRIDAY! Thank the LORD. This has been one of the longest weeks on record. PLUS, it's a long weekend, which is an added bonus. The best part? We have ZERO plans this weekend. We've been bombarded with parties, showers, get togethers of all sorts and just tons of stuff to do the past few months, and it's finally time for a RELAXING weekend!

Tonight after work, I might head over to Pier One in Joliet... I hear they're hiring, and a part time second job might not be a bad idea. We'll see... Jason has a softball game tonight, so I'll be a good wife and go watch that. Once I get home, the sweats will go on, make up will be washed off and glasses will be adorned. I will be a lazy sack of crap for the next few days - THAT I can guarantee you.

Something like this:

Only much lazier.

The smelly dogs need baths, as I've put that task off, as well. I'm sure I'll get that in sometime this weekend. If not, whatevs.

In other news, it's only 10:45am. What the EFF am I going to do to make it until 5pm today? This is going to be brutal.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend. Get some sun. Be lazy. I'll report back Monday.

Deuces.

Time to kill

I've got about 2 hours until I can go home for the day, so I figured I'd kill some time and blog a bit.

This week (even though it's only Tuesday) has been good so far... I've had lots of energy and have gotten lots done at work and around the house. Tonight's tasks after work include giving Gus a bath and cutting his nails (which are more like talons now). I used to take him to the groomer to get his nails cut, but it was SUCH an epic tragedy for him to go that it's easier if I just do it myself at home... Needless to say, after a bath AND nail trim, we won't be on speaking terms until the weekend, I'm sure.

I'll tackle the muppet another day. He's so laid back that he'll let me cut and style his mohawk no problem :)

In other news, I have been on Weight Watchers for about two weeks now, and I forgot how much I love this damn program. I was on Isagenix (don't ever get it, it sucks & is expensive), and I ended up gaining a pound and losing no inches. So I sent it all back and got a full refund, which is good. I've lost about 6.5lbs since being on Weight Watchers, and I'm hoping to continue the progress. I have a bridesmaid dress to fit into on June 29th. Like a moron, I ordered my dress a size smaller than I normally wear because "it will motivate me to lose weight." Yeah. I took this pic the day I picked up the dress. I've lost weight since here, but this is what I need to accomplish by the wedding:

Not THAT bad. I can do it... Side zippers are the devil, as well, but that's a whole other story in itself. The dress is beautiful, and I believe I WILL shorten it and wear it again sometime...

So that's that. I'm feeling good today, I'm losing weight, and I'm happy :)

Here's hoping the remainder of the week follows suit! XO

Freaking out, as usual.

So I'm blogging this morning because it will hopefully make me feel better to get things off my chest...

I'm officially obsessed with how I look, and it's becoming borderline ridiculous. All I want to do is lose 10-15lbs. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?? I really don't think so. I think about it day and night, and I do SO WELL during the day with my diet, but by the time I get home, I say "eff it" and eat garbage. I've been so tired lately, and I'm sure it's because of my poor eating habits.

So, I'm making a promise to MYSELF. I will eat healthy and exercise DAILY. I need to start being proactive in how I feel and take charge of my life. I can't continue to feel like this everyday. So today is Day 1 of my new lifestyle change. My boss is kind enough to be ordering us pizza for lunch. I'm going to plan out what I'm going to have BEFORE it gets here, so when I eat, I won't feel so bad. I'm giving myself (if they're square pieces) three pieces and that's it. I brought grapes in this morning, so I will have that as a snack later on today. For dinner, I will have a chicken breast and veggies. I have to keep telling myself it's OK to have pizza, etc. as long as I have it in moderation. I'm too hard on myself, I think.

SO here's my Day 1 picture. Yes, I'm in the bathroom at work. Don't judge me.

As of today, I weigh 168lbs (ugh I'm ashamed to admit that... but I'm 5'10") and I'm wearing a size 8 pants from NY&Co and a Medium shirt.

Here we go...

So that's that. HELP ME stay motivated... I'll be checking in over the weekend to update my progress (hopefully).

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day, and thanks for listening to me bitch. I'm sure there will be much more to come :)

Been awhile!

It's been awhile since I've posted on here, and I figure since I have some down time at the office today, there's no better way to fill it than posting about me :)

Last weekend was RIDICULOUSLY full of plans... I mean INSANE. I had no time to just relax, and that's usually what my weekends are for - and cleaning/laundry. Friday, I was off work, but I had a million errands to run (and it was Jason's 30th birthday that day), so I went and watched him bowl at night.

Saturday, I had to work a CPR event at the campus, but I got a two year certification, so it was worth it. Then I had to bust ass home to shower and get ready for dinner in the city with my sister and her man friend. They wanted to take us out for Jason's birthday. We went to Luxbar, which was amazing - the food was incredible, and it was nice to get out in the city for a night. By the time we rolled back into Romeoville, it was around 2am, and I had to work SUNDAY too...

Sunday was something. I had to work the Anime Convention in Rosemont for work. We have a graphic design program here at Westwood, so the goal was to get leads. THESE PEOPLE WERE FREAKY. Here are some pics...

Needless to say, the ability to get these freaks to break character long enough to get a lead out of them was next to impossible. Our booth was right next to an ice cream place, so at least I got a cone.

THEN, as if my weekend wasn't jam packed enough, I decided to have immediate family over for dinner/cake/coffee for J's birthday. So, again, I'm hauling ass home from Rosemont to set up/start cooking for everyone. It turned out really nice though. Great food, great company & I got to smother my nephews with auntie love :)

Jason's awesome cake. Maybe next year, boys.

My parents and my nephew Jake

Jake helping Uncle Jason blow out his candles.

So that's that. This week is going by fast, which I need... I can't wait to relax this weekend. Jason will be out of town for his bowling state tournament (tons of fine athletes all in one place...), so I'll have the house to myself with the fur kids. Hopefully, I'll get lots accomplished. If not, oh well.

So that's Wednesday. More to come later in the week, I'm sure... :)
